Faculty Alum Friday: Maggie Fazekas Hall, Class of 2003
BRHSF: How long have you work at Baton Rouge High School?
MFH: 8 years
BRHSF: Why did you choose to work at BRHS?
MFH: I admire the environment produced by the student body and the faith of the administration in its faculty.
BRHSF: How did BRHS prepare you for college and/or your career?
MFH: I found that my study habits were more fine-tuned than my college peers, and my work ethic was strong both for college and career.
BRHSF: What activities were you involved in as a student at BRHS?
MFH: Swim team and Gymnastics team
BRHSF: What teachers or staff influenced you as a student at BRHS and how?
MFH: My coaches, Coach Newport and Coach Nee, were probably my biggest influences. They provided me with confidence and a sense of worth in my awkward high school years.
BRHSF: What is a fun fact, embarrassing moment, or funny story about yourself from high school or now?
MFH: I left the headlights of my car on so many times during school that Coach Newport and Coach Nee presented me with a set of jumper cables during my senior year athletic ceremony.
BRHSF: What advice would you give current students?
MFH: I know BRHS and the teachers seem really tough right now, but hang in there. One day you will appreciate it. I promise.
