Faculty Alum Friday: Chris Frazier, Class of 1993

BRHSF: Are you a parent of a current student or graduate?

CF: Yes. Curretnt student, Naimah Frazier, Class of 2022, and graduates, Chazzi Hayes, Class of 2017, Summer Hayes, Class of 2016, Lamar Burton, Class of 2008

BRHSF: How long have you work at Baton Rouge High School?

CF: 15 Years

BRHSF: Why did you choose to work at BRHS?

CF: I wanted an opportunity to be able to continue the legacy of producing accomplished musicians, as this is what BRHS has always been known for.  I also wanted the chance to continue working with Mrs. McCann.

BRHSF: How did BRHS prepare you for college and/or your career?

CF: BRHS prepared me both musically and academically.  At BRHS, I developed a tireless work ethic and learned how to set the bar for my success.

BRHSF: What activities were you involved in as a student at BRHS?

CF: I was involved in Orchestra and various science programs geared towards continuance in Organic Chemistry.

BRHSF: What teachers or staff influenced you as a student at BRHS and how?

CF: Mrs. Ware – Biology – Because of her enthusiasm about the subject matter.

Mrs. Keen – String Orchestra – Because she saw my potential before I did.

Mr. Gerbrecht – Served as a great example as an Orchestra Director and Musician.

BRHSF: What is a fun fact, embarrassing moment, or funny story about yourself from high school or now?

CF: Fun Fact – I was heavily involved in Karate, where I earned my black belt as a senior.  I also had a full head of beautiful hair in the form of a flat top.

BRHSF:  What advice would you give current students?

CF: Achieve Balance – Too much work or too much play can lead to undesired results.
