Three BRHS Seniors Named U.S. Presidential Scholar Semifinalists

April 21, 2020 By BRHSF

Baton Rouge High School seniors Cindy Zheng, Sunggun Lee, and Alison Qi are three of eight U.S. Presidential Scholar Semifinalists from Louisiana. Baton Rouge Magnet High School is the only High School in Louisiana with multiple semifinalists.

The United States Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by Executive Order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our Nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Students from both public and private schools are invited to apply to the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program based on their performance on the ACT and SAT tests. Each year, up to 161 students are named U.S. Presidential Scholars, one of the Nation’s highest honors for high school students.  All scholars are honored for their accomplishments during the National Recognition Program, held in Washington, D.C.
