The BRHS Foundation would like to congratulate Selia Jindal for being named the 2019 Baton Rouge High School Student of the Year.
Selia exemplifies leadership in both academics and the arts. She has been National Merit Scholarship Commended and is an AP Scholar with Honors. Leadership roles include the state board for Model United Nations, President for the Youth and Government Club, officer for Key Club, Student Council (Freshmen Secretary, Sophomore Vice President), Art Club President, and Parliamentarian for the Legislative Youth Advisory Council, the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council, as well as the youth leadership team at her church. She is active in several organization both on campus and throughout the community. School organizations include: Youth Legislature, Mu Alpha Theta, Literary Rally, National Honor Society, Beta Club, and STEM Club. She is involved in several community organizations where she has served the Baton Rouge Area and beyond in disaster relief, helping disabled children, and sharing her love of science and art with children in the Baton Rouge community. Selia thrives in Art and her art has been on display throughout the community at places such as the state capital, the Louisiana Art and Science Museum, LSU, and the local library.
