Congratulations to these outstanding seniors and best of luck in your pursuit of Academic Excellence.
These seniors have the opportunity to continue on in the competition, competing for some of the 7,600 scholarships worth over $31 million dollars offered Spring of 2021. From approximately 16,000 Semifinalists, 15,000 are expected to advance to the Finalist level. National Merit Scholarship winners are then selected from the Finalist group.
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation is a not-for-profit organization, established in 1955 whose mission is to recognize and honor the academically talented students of the United States. NMSC accomplishes its mission by conducting nationwide academic scholarship programs. The enduring goals of NMSC’s scholarship programs are:
- To promote a wider and deeper respect for learning in general and for exceptionally talented individuals in particular
- To shine a spotlight on brilliant students and encourage the pursuit of academic excellence at all levels of education
- To stimulate increased support from individuals and organizations that wish to sponsor scholarships for outstanding scholastic talent
