Introducing Our Newest Board Member…Alfreda Sellars Diamond

At the 4th quarter Board meeting in November of 2017, the members appointed Professor Alfreda Diamond, Class of 1972 to serve as a director. While a student at BRHS, she excelled in Band, earning All-Parish and All- State honors, Who’s Who Among American H. S. Students, Baton Rouge Youth Symphony, Executive Board Chairman, Jr. Academy, Beta Club, LA Girls’ State and Fricassee Co-Editor just to name a few! 

She has been teaching at the Southern University Law Center since 1989. Her previous teaching experience has been as an adjunct instructor in insurance law at the Tulane University School of Law and before law school, as an elementary and middle school teacher and band director in the public school system of East Baton Rouge Parish.

 

Alfreda earned a B.M.Ed. (1976), M.Ed. (1978), and J.D. (1986) from Louisiana State University, and an LL.M. (1993) from the Columbia University School of Law. We are so very grateful for her service.
